About the Role

Amberstone Biosciences is a team of passionate scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs dedicated to developing cutting-edge microfluidic-based single cell technologies with an ambitious vision to sharply improve the success rate and efficiency of discovering next generation therapeutics.

Our engineering division is seeking a junior engineer with knowledge in the area of biomedical engineering, specifically in microfluidics design and fabrication in the context of single cell assays. The candidate will report to the Director of Engineering and work with other team members in a highly team-oriented environment.


  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a MS or BS with 2+ years of industry experience in biomedical engineering or related disciplines.
  • Background in droplet microfluidics is desired. Working knowledge with fluid mechanics, laboratory automation (e.g., LabView), 3D CAD design (e.g., Solidworks), microscopy (e.g., fluorescence imaging), and microfabrication are preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture and the handling of biologics such as proteins is highly desired.
  • Excellent ability to work with a strong focus on planned project goals.
  • Excellent communication and trouble-shooting skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Design and fabricate microfluidic chips
  • Create and maintain LabView softwares
  • Lead microfluidic based experiments
  • Design 3D printed custom parts
  • Design and operate laser PMT based detection system
