About the Role
Amberstone Biosciences, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director to lead a research group focusing on the development of our proprietary tumor microenvironment activated novel therapeutic biologics for the treatment of cancer. Reporting to the CTO/SVP of Therapeutic Biologics, the Director of Immuno-Oncology is a key leadership position and an exciting opportunity to advance our current next generation immunotherapeutics into the clinic. The successful candidate is a passionate and rigorous scientist, an effective leader, a great team player, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment managing multiple projects and scientists.

Requirements

  • PhD degree and 10+ years of experience in immunology, cancer biology, cell biology, and/or molecular biology with previous experience in biologics drug discovery
  • Strong knowledge base in immunology and/or cancer immunology, with expertise in T cell biology preferred
  • Broad technical skill sets in molecular and cell biology, including human and/or mouse primary cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, immunological assays, single cell transcriptomics, cell line development, in vivo animal study design/execution
  • Attention to details with strong organizational and record keeping skills
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a highly productive team of Research Associates and/or Scientists to advance current therapeutic programs
  • Execute and refine the drug research strategy, help to move lead molecules into IND filing with helps from internal and external collaborations
  • Keep abreast of current trend and knowledge in therapeutic targets and related biology
  • Lead the research efforts in early discovery research: design, conduct, and analyze in vitro and in vivo experiments in therapeutic molecule screening and identification, lead characterization, mechanism of action and pharmacological activity studies
  • Act as cross-functional project team leader if needed
  • Contribute to a culture that embraces continuous learning, development, and collaboration
  • Represent the company in significant scientific meetings
